Join us in Juneau, Alaska on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am for “Holiday Success Strategies: Preparing Your Business for the Festive Season.” During this engaging workshop Sandy Hussain, Director of the Juneau Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Katie Nave, Director of the BuyAlaska Program, Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will explore proven strategies to maximize your success during the busiest time of year. In collaboration with the BuyAlaska program, Sandy and Katie will cover essential tips for reaching local customers, leveraging key marketing channels, and preparing for the most common pitfalls that small businesses face during the holiday rush.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
Sandy Hussain, Director, Juneau Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Sandy Hussain has over a decade of experience as an entrepreneur in the retail and technology sectors. As the founder and CEO of Fashion Digital, she led a premier thought leadership conference series in New York, Los Angeles, and LA. Sandy thrives on helping businesses grow and scale, specializing in digital marketing, e-commerce, startups, business development, fundraising, and entrepreneurship. She holds a Master’s in Urban Planning from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in International Politics from Bryn Mawr College. A passionate lifelong traveler and explorer, Sandy has lived in dynamic cities like New York, London, Boston, Philadelphia, San Diego, and Los Angeles before making her home in Juneau, Alaska.
Katie Nave, Director, BuyAlaska Program, Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Katie Nave is the BuyAlaska Program Manager and is thrilled to be finding ways to promote Alaska’s small businesses and to encourage shopping local first. With a background in the natural sciences and sustainable forest management, she took her passion for sustainability into the field of business and has an MBA in Sustainable Systems. Katie has a breadth of experience working in small business management from tourism to e-commerce and understands the needs and hurdles that small businesses face daily. Katie has always felt a sense of entrepreneurship and is currently undertaking her small business venture. Outside of the office, Katie is an avid swimmer, skier, and lover of the outdoors.
