Are you thinking about starting your own business? This workshop was designed just for you!
During “Starting a Business,” our Anchorage SBDC Business Advisor, Ginny Grabowski, will discuss the initial steps and considerations for starting a small business, such as:
- business licensing;
- legal forms of business;
- business record-keeping;
- hiring employees;
- business planning; and
- access to financing.
This workshop will be available In Person at the Alaska SBDC Office in Anchorage, Alaska (location below). Please register early, as In Person seating is limited.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Ginny Grabowski, Business Advisor, Anchorage Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Ginny has been navigating the waters of entrepreneurship and small-business ownership for over 20 years. She is committed to empowering others and is excited to be working to further the SBDC’s mission to help small businesses grow throughout Alaska.
Ginny’s background is in the health and wellness sector. With a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion she has expertise in creating and scaling businesses that promote health and wellness. Her strengths are strategic partnership management, client engagement, and creating community through workshops, training, and the development of health programs.
Ginny’s ventures have emphasized the importance of a user-centric approach, leveraging technology through website development, social media marketing, and app development to enhance customer experience and engagement.
Ginny arrived in Alaska in 2002 and lost her heart to Alaska while working in the tourist industry in and around Denali National Park. In her downtime, you’ll find her running, cycling, skiing, or dancing to live music with her husband all over Southcentral Alaska.
Registration Information
You are registering for an In Person workshop located at the Alaska SBDC Office in Anchorage, Alaska. Online registration is required to attend this workshop. The registration deadline is 12:00 pm on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. In Person seating is limited, so please be sure to register early (see instructions below). After attending the workshop, you will have unlimited access to any presentation materials or handouts that accompany the workshop (see instructions below).

- “No Fee” Workshops: No credit card is required. To access our workshops, click on "Workshops" from the menu on the left. To register for a workshop, open it, click on "Sign Up" above the workshop title, and follow the prompts. If this is an On Demand workshop, click on “To view the course.” Enter your first name, last name, and email address. Click on “Register.” You'll now have access to the workshop video. If the audio is muted, click on the volume icon to unmute the volume.
- Workshops with a Fee: You'll be prompted to enter your payment information. If you have a "Discount Code" enter it in the "Coupon Code" box, and click "Save." Access to the workshop video and handouts will be available after payment has been processed. You'll be emailed a receipt. To access our workshops, click on "Workshops" from the menu on the left. To register for a workshop, open it and click on "Sign Up" above the workshop title. Click on “To view the course.” Enter your first name, last name, and email address. Once you've signed in, click on “My Events,” from the menu on the left. Select the workshop from the list of workshops you've registered for. Scroll down. Below the “QUESTIONS OR TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES” section, you'll see the list of any available presentation handouts for that workshop to download and open.

Registration & Fees: If there is a fee for this class, payment may be made online by credit card. Please contact us at 907-786-7201 to make other payment arrangements. Your space in the class is not reserved until payment is received.
On Demand Access: If registering for an on demand workshop an access link to the workshop will be provided once registration and payment of fees (if required) are complete. This access is for the registrant only.
Cancellation & Refund Policy: There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you wish to request a refund, please contact the workshop point of contact listed above to discuss. All registrations are transferable to another person upon your request. If the event is cancelled, all fees will be refunded immediately.
