All the jewelry I design/ make is made out of a wild fruit called Tagua nut but also known as vegetal ivory, all the pieces are dyed with non-toxic food coloring and assembled with cotton threads and leather.
All the jewelry designs that we make in La Joya, are designed by me, I have in anchorage my workshop where I also make some of the products, explore colors, shapes and also buy some supplies in Anchorage which I take to my home country Colombia to assemble the jewelry.
In Colombia, there is a group of women who were victims of the violence and I teach them how to make all the pieces,
in addition, developing the products there not only helps Women but also makes manufacturing less expensive so the prices can be competitive and fairer, and my products are not affected.
