Mari in the Sky is the indigenous-owned, independent publishing house behind The Gentle Tarot, a hand-drawn tarot deck birthed from a 2020 Kickstarter and inspired by compassion for mental health and connection to our natural environment. Mari in the Sky also produces oracle decks, books, games, journals, and other unique products illustrated with original artwork. Many creations, including The Gentle Tarot and the memory game My Alaska Memory, feature illustrations of Alaskan flora and fauna, inspired by artist and founder Mariza Ryce Aparicio-Tovar’s time living and working in the Aleutians. All Mari in the Sky creations explore self-awareness and advocate care for our planet and for ourselves. Over 20,800 Gentle Tarot decks and books have been sold worldwide, with 5-10% of profits donated to environmental advocacy and conservation.
