Noble Ocean Farms is dedicated to enhancing food security and marine ecosystem resilience. Through cultivation of seaweed (kelps), we create nursery habitat for fish at key life cycle stages, help remove carbon from the ocean, diversify our local economy, and improve the nutritional security of rural Alaska.
We grow sugar kelp (Saccharina latissima), bull kelp (Nereocystis luetkeana) and ribbon kelp (Alaria marginata) on our 22 acre aquatic farm in Simpson Bay, Prince William Sound. We have sold fresh, and frozen kelp to over 50 local families, along with two local schools, several local restaurants, and seven other food businesses. Noble Ocean Farms is a woman owned small business cofounded in 2021 by a passionate and driven couple, Skye Steritz, and her partner, Sean Den Adel.
