We are an independent bookstore and a local cafe, featuring homemade international comfort foods and local brews (coffee, beer, ciders) and wines. The Writer’s Block features the best of Alaska: books, art, music, food, and drink! Pre-pandemic programming featured musicians, artists, and writers, workshops, and community gatherings to celebrate the diversity of our friends and neighbors—we look forward to hosting these sorts of events as soon as it is safe to do so again!
